Old Photograph Old Deer Church Scotland
Old photograph of the old church in Old Deer, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This ancient Scottish church dates to the 15th century, but its roots go back much further as it is located on the site of a Culdee settlement established by St Columba and St Drostan around 580AD. In 1892 William Ferguson of Kinmundy built a monument to his forebears against the south wall of the nave. The earliest Ferguson mentioned is James, who died in 1777.

Tour Scotland Video Night Walk In Rain To The Fish And Chip Shop In Scone By Perth Perthshire
Tour Scotland video of a night walk in the rain to visit the Fish and Chip Shop in Scone by Perth, Perthshire, Scotland.
Fish and chips became a stock meal among the working classes in Scotland and England as a consequence of the rapid development of trawl fishing in the North Sea, and the development of railways which connected the ports to major industrial cities during the second half of the 19th century, so that fresh fish could be rapidly transported to the heavily populated areas. British fish and chips were originally served in a wrapping of old newspapers but this practice has now largely ceased, with plain paper, cardboard or plastic being used instead.
