Old photograph of the Lucky Scaup by Tayport, Fife, Scotland. This Scottish stone tower was built by Admiral Dougall in 1861. It was used as a marker for ships in the North Sea looking for safe haven. Vice Admiral William Heriot Maitland Dougall was born on 3 July 1819. He was the son of James Maitland Heriot and Margaret Dalgleish. He married Elizabeth Kinnear Dougall, daughter of William Stark Dougall, on 18 December 1851. He died on 7 March 1890 at age 70. He held the office of Justice of the Peace for Fife. He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant of Fife. He was Colonel of the Fife and Stirling Volunteer Artillery, Tay Submarine Mines. He lived at Scotscraig, Tayport.

Old photograph of Howgate Railway Station in Kilwinning, Ayrshire, Scotland. This intermediate Scottish train station on the Glasgow to Giffen to Ardrossan line of the former Caledonian Railway was also the junction station for that company's branch to Irvine. It was opened by the Lanarkshire and Ayrshire Railway on 3 September 1888, closed on 1 January 1917 and was reopened on 1 February 1919. It was renamed Kilwinning East station by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway on 2 June 1924, and closed to regular passenger traffic on 4 July 1932.

Old photograph of cottages in Maryburgh in Perthshire near Kelty in Fife, Scotland. This Scottish village was laid out as a planned estate and mining village in 1730 by the architect William Adam of Blairadam, but never completed, the village takes its name from Adam's wife Mary. William Adam and Mary Robertson had ten surviving children:
Janet, known as Jenny, born 1717, at Linktown, later managed their brothers' London business.
John, born 3 July 1721, at Linktown, took over Blair Adam and the other family businesses, as well as practising architecture.
Robert, born 3 July 1728 at Linktown, architect, and best known of the Adam brothers.
James, born 21 July 1732 architect, business partner of Robert.
William, known as Willie, born 1738.
Elizabeth, known as Betty, with Janet, managed their brothers' London business.
Helen known as Nellie.
Margaret, known as Peggy.
Mary, married John Drysdale, Minister of the Tron Kirk and one time Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, though now chiefly remembered for his friendship with economist Adam Smith.
Susannah, married Sir John Clerk of Eldin, son of Sir John Clerk of Penicuik.
The birth dates of their five younger daughters are not recorded. In addition another son, named William, and two daughters died in infancy.

Old photograph of Falkland house near Falkland village in Fife, Scotland. This Scottish house was built between 1838 and 1844 by William Burn for Onesiphorus Tyndall-Bruce and his wife. Nuthill House was demolished and its stone reused in the building of the house. The Tyndall-Bruces later went on to finance the rebuilding of Falkland Parish Church. The house is now a school. The chapel is in the house and is built in a Jacobean style.

Old photograph of Harry Kemp's Entertainers in Saltcoats, Scotland. Harry Kemp introduced a series of concert parties during the 1922 summer season at the La Scala cinema in Saltcoats. This proved to be the first of the renowned Kemp Summer Shows which ran at venues up and down the Ayrshire Coast. Kemp also invested heavily in Saltcoats' cinemas, with the Regal and La Scala cinemas in Saltcoats remaining in Kemp family ownership after Harry's death in 1972. Amongst the many performers who featured in Kemp's shows at the Beach Pavillion was Dave Willis, born 1895, died 1973, a Scottish comedian and actor well-known for his music hall performances in 1930s and 1940s. Willis also made two films for Welwyn Studios, co-starring with Patricia Kirkwood. Built on the site of the old Minstrel Stance, the Beach Pavilion was constructed to house summer shows. The Beach Pavilion, built as part of the Lido Complex, was also used a cartographic centre during World War II.
