Saint Regulus or Saint Rule was a monk of Patras who, in the fourth century, according to a Scottish legend that became current during the twelfth century, fled to Scotland with the bones of Saint Andrew, and deposited them at St Andrews. His feast day in the Aberdeen Breviary is October 17. The St Andrews University Student portraying Saint Regulus today was Ellen MacDougall.

Several legends state that the relics of Andrew were brought under supernatural guidance from Constantinople to the place where the modern town of St Andrews stands today. The St Andrews University Student portraying Saint Andrew today was Leopold Thun-Hohenstein.
