Tour Scotland February Photographs Millais Viewpoint Perth Perthshire
Tour Scotland photograph of Millais Viewpoint by the River Tay in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. A frosty, sunny and very cold start to the day in Perth. The photographs are of Millais Viewpoint by the sculptor, Tim Shutter. John Everett Millais painted many of his famous works in Perth. One of the famous pictures by Millais is "Autumn Leaves" and these form part of the frame. The cut corners refer to immortality and are reminders of Effie Gray, Millais' wife who is buried with her children in a nearby churchyard. The view through the frame is best during Autumn and Winter when the leaves have gone from the trees.

In 1296 one, Alexander Kennedy was canon of Glasgow. Duncan Kennedy, provost of Aberdeen in 1321 was the first recorded of the name in the north east. The Kennedy's held the lands of Kermuck, Aberdeenshire, for generations.

Tour Scotland Photograph Shipowner Gravestone Greyfriars Perth Perthshire
Tour Scotland travel photography of a Shipowner gravestone on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to Greyfriars cemetery in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. Perth was once one of the richest trading burghs in Scotland, along with such towns as Berwick, Aberdeen and Roxburgh. The town also carried out an extensive trade with the Continent, and examples of foreign luxury goods have been recovered from excavations within the town, for example, Spanish silk, fine pottery from France; wine will also have been a major import, not least for the use of the Church. The main destinations were France, the Low Countries and the Baltic.
