Perthshire is at the very heart of Scotland and one of the most popular regions for visitors, offering a variety of Highland and Lowland landscapes with some of the most scenic and accessible countryside for shorter walks as well as evidence of its rich history at every turn. Perthshire 40 Town and Country Walks features traditional tourist hubs, such as Pitlochry, Dunkeld and Killin, with its historical connections to the county, as well as countryside around Blairgowrie, Crieff and Aberfeldy, finishing up at the Fair City of Perth and nearby Kinross. Tour Scotland Photograph Nathaniel Law Gravestone

Tour Scotland photograph of the Nathaniel Law gravestone in the old Parish Churchyard at Eassie, near Glamis Castle, Angus, Scotland. Nathaniel Law, for 10 years Minister of Eassie and Neavie, born 25th May, 1852, died 14th February 1888. Not much information given on this gravestone, but for me an interesting cross to photograph.

The Law surname is widespread in Scotland and England and the surname is locational as well as topographic in origin. Early examples of recordings include William de Lawe of the county of Essex in 1229; William Law of Cambridgeshire in 1279 and Hugh del Lawe of Yorkshire in 1309. Robert de Lawe of Scotland, was granted a safe conduct to pass through England on his return from Spain in 1428, and in 1488 James of Law was noted in the records of the burgh of Prestwick.

Tour Scotland Photographs Daffodils Glamis Castle

Tour Scotland photograph of Daffodils at Glamis Castle, Angus, Scotland. It is always nice to see and photograph the daffodils at Glamis when Spring arrives in Scotland. Glamis Castle was originally a 14th century keep which has been extended extensively over the years. Macbeth was Thane of Glamis but did not own the castle. King Malcolm II is reputed to have been murdered in the castle, with blood stains on the floor of "King Malcolm's Room" to prove the claim.
