Tour Scotland Green Grow the Rashes Video
Tour Scotland Green Grow the Rashes video. Michael Marra sings Robert Burns. Sad to hear today that Michael died on Tuesday night, October 23rd, 2012, following a long battle with illness. I had heard Michael sing many times. He was a wonderful Scottish singer and songwriter who will be much missed. May he R.I.P.

There's nought but care on ev'ry han',
In ev'ry hour that passes, O:
What signifies the life o' man,
An' 'twere na for the lasses, O.
Chorus. Green grow the rashes, O;
Green grow the rashes, O;
The sweetest hours that e'er I spend,
Are spent amang the lasses, O.
The war'ly race may riches chase,
An' riches still may fly them, O;
An' tho' at last they catch them fast,
Their hearts can ne'er enjoy them, O.
Chorus. Green grow the rashes, O;
Green grow the rashes, O;
The sweetest hours that e'er I spend,
Are spent amang the lasses, O.
But gie me a cannie hour at e'en,
My arms about my dearie, O;
An' war'ly cares, an' war'ly men,
May a' gae tapsalteerie, O!
Chorus. Green grow the rashes, O;
Green grow the rashes, O;
The sweetest hours that e'er I spend,
Are spent amang the lasses, O.
For you sae douce, ye sneer at this;
Ye're nought but senseless asses, O:
The wisest man the warl' e'er saw,
He dearly lov'd the lasses, O.
Chorus. Green grow the rashes, O;
Green grow the rashes, O;
The sweetest hours that e'er I spend,
Are spent amang the lasses, O.
Auld Nature swears, the lovely dears
Her noblest work she classes, O:
Her prentice han' she try'd on man,
An' then she made the lasses, O.
Chorus. Green grow the rashes, O;
Green grow the rashes, O;
The sweetest hours that e'er I spend,
Are spent amang the lasses, O.

Tour Scotland Photograph Video Glen Sligachan Isle Of Skye
Tour Scotland photograph of Glen Sligachan, Isle Of Skye, Scotland. Glen Sligachan runs for eight miles to the South to meet the sea at Camasunary near Elgol, and divides the rounded Red Cuillin from the jagged Black Cuillin mountains. Tradition has it that the Lord of the Isles attacked Skye in 1395, but William MacLeod met the MacDonalds at Sligachan and drove them back to Loch Eynort. There they found that their galleys had been moved offshore by the Clan MacAskill, and every invader was killed. The spoils were divided at Creag an Fheannaidh, Rock of the Flaying, or Creggan ni feavigh, Rock of the Spoil, sometimes identified with the Bloody Stone in Harta Corrie below the heights of Sgurr nan Gillean
