Old Photograph Packhorse Bridge Scotland


Old photograph of the Packhorse Bridge, Carrbridge, Badenoch and Strathspey, Scotland. This famous landmark is the old packhorse bridge, from which the village is named. The bridge, built in 1717, is the oldest stone bridge in the Highlands. It was severely damaged in the "muckle spate" of 1829.

Old Photographs Moffat Scotland


Old photograph of Colvin Fountain in Moffat, Scotland. Wlliam Colvin of Craigielands, Beattock, Scotland, built this fountain in the middle of Moffat in 1875. The architect of the fountain is listed as Mr Brodie of Edinburgh.

Old photograph of Muckle Flugga Lighthouse, north of Unst in the Shetland Islands, Scotland. Muckle Flugga, a small rocky island, is home to the Muckle Flugga Lighthouse, built by Thomas and David Stevenson in 1854, originally to protect ships during the Crimean War.
