Old Photograph Crofters Scotland


Old photograph of crofters outside a cottage on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Within crofting townships, individual crofts were established on the best land, and a large area of lesser quality hill ground was shared by all the crofters of the township for grazing. Crofters also harvested Peat which was an important source of fuel. The women often spun and dyed wool as well as hand knitting and weaving.

Tour Scotland travel video of the Pictish Symbol Stone on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to Strathmiglo, Fife, Scotland. This symbol stone is located outside on the cemetery wall at Strathmiglo. Two Pictish symbols, a tuning-fork and a hind's head are on the face of this stone.
