Tour Scotland photograph of Fowlis Wester, Perthshire, Scotland. Fowlis Wester is a small village situated four miles north east of Crieff. The 13th century church of St Bean, rebuilt in neo-medieval form by J. Jeffrey Waddell in 1927, has two 9th century Pictish cross-slabs, one of which shows Jonah being swallowed by the whale. A replica of a taller slab stands in the village centre.
