Scotsman Walking Wearing Kilt On Sands Of Meal On History Visit To West Burra Shetland Scotland

Tour Scotland very short 4K Autumn travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a kilt and and Sporran and walking on Sands of Meal beach on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the coast of West Burra, Shetland Islands, Britain, United Kingdom. The beautiful white sand is actually the byproduct of active rock cliff erosion and historic, massive rockfalls occurring a few kilometres to the north. Over centuries, oceanic currents have ground down these rocks and deposited the fine sediment into the sheltered, south facing bay. The Sands of Meal sits a short distance from Hamnavoe, a village that originally grew around the booming 19th century herring fishing industry. The community has historically used the coastal paths surrounding the beach for livestock grazing and small scale crofting. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome. Meteorological Autumn or Fall is different from standard and astronomical Autumn and begins September 1 and ends November 30 All photographs are copyright of Sandy Stevenson, Tour Scotland, and may not be used without permission.
