Our Lady of the Braes Roman Catholic Church also known as the Polnish Chapel or Lochailort Chapel is a historic former church built in 1872. Situated on a picturesque hilltop overlooking Loch Ailort in the Scottish Highlands, it is famously known for its appearance in popular films. Built between 1872 and 1874 by Father William MacIntosh, it was constructed in a simple Gothic style to serve the now deserted communities of Ardnish and Polnish. It served as the interior location in the film Local Hero where Gordon Urquhart addressed the villagers. A replica facade was used for the beachfront exterior shots at Camusdarach Beach. In the film breaking the Waves it was used for pivotal scenes in Lars von Trier's acclaimed drama. The chapel has historic connections to local families such as the MacLeods and the Cameron Heads of Inverailort House.
