Scotsman Walking Wearing Kilt By Dall Castle On Summer History Visit To Loch Rannoch Scotland

Tour Scotland short 4K Summer travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a kilt and sporran and walking by Dall Castle on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the Southern shores of Loch Rannoch, Highlands, Perthshire, Britain, United Kingdom. The current mansion house castle was commissioned by Clan Chief George Duncan Robertson. Built between 1854 and 1855, it was intended to serve as the grand new seat of the clan after the sale of their previous estate at Dunalastair. The house was designed by the highly renowned Scottish architect Thomas Mackenzie, who passed away the same year the project concluded. Mackenzie incorporated traditional Scots Baronial features, giving the building a castle like appearance adorned with imposing turrets, crows-stepped gables, and heavy stone masonry. The sheer expense of constructing such a lavish estate unfortunately forced the Robertson chiefs to sell Dall House just a few years later, in 1861. For a few years it then became a Boarding School. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
