Scotsman Walking Wearing Kilt In Gardens On Spring History Visit To Drummond Castle Scotland

Tour Scotland short 4K Spring travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a Kilt and Sporran and walking by daffodils and flowers in gardens on Outlander, ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to Drummond Castle, Perthshire, Britain, United Kingdom. The original castle tower was built around 1490 by John, 1st Lord Drummond. Early records show the family's passion for gardening even then, with Lord Drummond sending cherries to King James IV in 1508. The formal garden began to take its structured shape around 1630 under the 2nd Earl of Perth. Clementina Drummond and her husband, Lord Willoughby de Eresby, commissioned a major redesign by Lewis Kennedy. This era added the dramatic terraces and the formal parterre that defined the garden's modern look. Queen Victoria famously visited in 1842 and planted copper beech trees that still stand. The gardens gained global fame as a filming location for the TV series Outlander, where they stood in for the Palace of Versailles. They also featured in the 1995 film Rob Roy. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
