Tour Scotland short 4K Spring travel video, with Scottish bagpipes music, of a road trip drive East on the B9037 route on ancestry, genealogy, history visit to Newmills, West Fife, Britain, United Kingdom. The village takes its name from an important grain mill established by the monks of Culross Abbey in the medieval period, it dominated the local grain trade and was a central part of the community's early economy. The village historically supported textile activities, including bleaching and printing trades, alongside the transport of coal via local railway lines. The village is a key stop for those walking the Fife Coastal Path. Captain Graham Ford, who in 1905, took the helm of The Royal Research Ship Discovery, made famous by Scott of the Antarctica, was from Newmills and married a local woman.
