Tour Scotland very short 4K Winter travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a kilt and sporran and walking during storm waves on Glenbatrick Bay Beach on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the remote West coast of Island of Jura, Inner Hebrides, Britain, United Kingdom. The island has been inhabited since prehistoric times, with evidence of Pictish presence dating back centuries. A Gaelic-speaking group from Ireland displaced the Picts around the 5th century. Tiree, like many Scottish islands, fell under Norse rule for several centuries, with the Vikings leaving their mark on the island's culture and place names. In the 13th century, Tiree came under Scottish rule, initially controlled by Clan MacDonald and later by the MacLeans. Ownership shifted again in 1674 to the Campbells of Argyll, who remain the island's feudal owners. Like other parts of the Highlands and Islands, Tiree experienced periods of hardship, including the potato famine and subsequent clearances, which led to significant population decline. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome. By the meteorological calendar, the first day of Winter is always 1st December in Scotland; ending on 28th of February. Officially, the Scottish winter runs from the 21st of December through to the 20th March
