Scotsman Walking Wearing Kilt On Machir Bay On Winter History Visit To Island Of Islay Scotland

Tour Scotland very short 4K Winter travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a kilt and sporran and walking during storm waves on Machir Bay Beach on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the West coast of Island of Islay, Britain, United Kingdom. In October 1918, the HMS Otranto collided with the HMS Kashmir during a storm just off the coast. Approximately 470 men perished, making it one of the worst convoy disasters of the war. The bay’s high energy Atlantic waves have claimed numerous vessels. Notable wrecks include the Stella in 1835 and the La Plata in 1888. At low tide, the hull of the Patti is sometimes still visible embedded in the sand. The area is characterized by powerful winds and waves making it unsuitable for swimming. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
