Declaration of Arbroath Statue On Winter History Visit To Arbroath Scotland

Tour Scotland short Winter 4K travel video of the Declaration of Arbroath Statue on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to Arbroath, Angus, Britain, United Kingdom. The Declaration of Arbroath declared Scottish independence, set out to confirm Scotland's status as an independent, sovereign state and defended Scotland's right to use military action when unjustly attacked. It is in the form of a letter submitted to Pope John XXII, dated 6 April 1320. Sealed by fifty-one magnates and nobles, the letter is the sole survivor of three created at the time. The others were a letter from the King of Scots, Robert I, and a letter from four Scottish bishops which all presumably made similar points. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome. By the meteorological calendar, the first day of Winter is always 1st December in Scotland; ending on 28th of February. Officially, the Scottish winter runs from the 21st of December through to the 20th March All photographs are copyright of Sandy Stevenson, Tour Scotland, and may not be used without permission.
