Tour Scotland very short 4K travel video clip of a Scotsman wearing a kilt and and Sporran and walking by the coast and lighthouse on South Rona Island on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the Inner Hebrides, Britain, United Kingdom. The island is located between the Sound of Raasay and the Inner Sound just north of the neighbouring island of Raasay and east of the Trotternish peninsula of Skye. The lighthouse was built to the design and engineering of Thomas Stevenson and David Stevenson. It was first lighted on 10 November 1857. The lighthouse was manned with keepers cottages onsite. During the 20th century, supplies and the keepers were taken by boat from Portree to the Rona quay. By 1930, only the lighthouse keepers remained on Rona as all other residents had relocated to the mainland. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome
