Tour Scotland short 4K travel video, with Scottish music, of old footage of the High Street in Falkirk, Britain, United Kingdom. Falkirk High Street has a rich history, once serving as the town's marketplace and a hub for trade and industry. Falkirk's strategic location, situated between Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Stirling, ensured its importance throughout Scottish history. The town was originally part of the barony of Callendar and was elevated to a burgh of barony in 1600. The High Street expanded during the 17th century with the construction of new stone buildings after the baronies of Callendar fell into the hands of the Livingstons. In the 18th century, Falkirk High Street was home to numerous inns and public houses, including the Crosskeys, where Robert Burns stayed during his Highland tour. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day
