Tour Scotland 4K travel video, with Scottish music, of the exterior and interior of the Parish Church on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to Kenmore, Highlands of Perthshire, Britain, United Kingdom. Kenmore Parish Church, located at the heart of Kenmore village, has a history dating back to the 16th century. Initially, the church was built in 1579 to replace the medieval church at Inchadney. The current structure, a cruciform building with a prominent square tower, was largely rebuilt in 1760 by the 3rd Earl of Breadalbane. Further renovations and alterations occurred in 1870 and 1923. The church also houses a bell cast in London in 1763. The initial church was built to replace the medieval church at Inchadney, located within the grounds of Taymouth Castle. William Baker of Cheshire, England, designed the church, with George Paterson as the builder. The Earl of Breadalbane reportedly paid six guineas for the plans. The church underwent significant renovations in 1870, including a new roof and the heightening of the tower. The pinnacles on the tower were removed in 1950. The church has galleries at the east and west ends, once reserved for the Breadalbane family and their servants. The organ is now housed in what was formerly the Ladies' Gallery. #scotland #scottish #music #church #highlands @tourscotland #summer All photographs are copyright of Sandy Stevenson, Tour Scotland, and may not be used without permission.
