Spring Morning Road Trip Drive With Music On History Visit To St Andrews Fife Scotland

Tour Scotland 4K travel video, with Scottish music, of a Spring Easter Holiday weekend morning road trip drive on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to St Andrews, Fife. St Andrews is a former royal burgh and parish on the east coast of Fife in Scotland, 10 miles south east of Dundee and 30 miles north east of Edinburgh. The town is home to the University of St Andrews, the third oldest university in the English speaking world and the oldest in Scotland. The name St Andrews derives from the town's claim to be the resting place of bones of the apostle Andrew. According to legend, St Regulus, or St Rule, brought the relics to Kilrymont, where a shrine was established for their safekeeping and veneration while Kilrymont was renamed in honour of the saint. This is the origin of a third name for the town Kilrule. The establishment of the present town began around 1140 by Bishop Robert possibly on the site of the ruined St Andrews Castle. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome. When driving on Scottish roads in Scotland slow down and enjoy the trip. The date for astronomical spring is Sunday 20th March, ending on Tuesday 21st June, while by the meteorological calendar, spring will start on Tuesday 1st March. @tourscotland #spring #music #drivingtrip #scotland #easter All photographs are copyright of Sandy Stevenson, Tour Scotland, and may not be used without permission.
