Male Mallard Duck Eating On Visit To My Cottage Garden Scone Perthshire Scotland

Tour Scotland 4K short closeup wildlife camera travel video clip of the sight and sounds of a male Mallard Duck bird eating on a visit to the grounds of my cottage garden in Scone by Perth, Perthshire, Britain, United Kingdom. The Mallard, anas platyrhynchos, is the most familiar and widespread species of dabbling duck bird in Europe, including Britain and Ireland. Mallards are adaptable waders who live happily in tiny ponds in towns and cities as well as in marshes and wetlands in the wider countryside. Males and females are not alike. The male has a distinctive bottle green head, a white collar, purple-brown breast and grey on the wings and underparts. The Mallard's adaptability to different types of environments has allowed them to spread to towns and cities. Some in parks and lakes can become very tame, especially if they are regularly fed by humans. I like to provide food which is great for attracting a wide variety of birds to the garden. Dates for Spring in the United Kingdom depends on whether you are following the astronomical or metrological calendar. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day All photographs are copyright of Sandy Stevenson, Tour Scotland, and may not be used without permission.
