Tour Scotland short 4K travel video clip, with Scottish music, of the interior of a traditional cottage of a fisherman and his family on ancestry, genealogy history visit and trip to the East Neuk of Fife, Britain, United Kingdom. The East Neuk or East Neuk of Fife is an area of the coast of Fife. Neuk is the Scots word for nook or corner, and the East Neuk is generally accepted to comprise the fishing villages of the most northerly part of the Firth of Forth and the land and villages slightly inland. It would include Elie and Earlsferry, Colinsburgh, St Monans, Pittenweem, Arncroach, Carnbee, Anstruther, Cellardyke and Kilrenny. Fishing was once the mainstay of this area, and herring were landed in their thousands up and down the coast. Today the fishing industry has moved further north, but a small number of commercial boats remain, nowadays mainly fishing for shellfish. I was raised in this old fishing village on the East coast and attended Cellardyke Primary School and Waid Academy in Anstruther. I was raised a Dyker. The Fife Coastal Walking Path goes through the East Neuk and runs from the Forth Estuary in the south, to the Tay Estuary in the north and stretches for 117 miles. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
