Tour Scotland 4K short Summer travel video clip of mowing the Field and Pitch at the Doo'cot Park Cricket Club on visit and trip to Perth, Perthshire, Britain, United Kingdom. A cricket field is a large grass field on which the game of cricket is played. In the game of cricket, the cricket pitch consists of the central strip of the cricket field between the wickets. It is 22 yards long and 10 feet wide. The surface is flat and is normally covered with extremely short grass, but can be completely dry or dusty soil with barely any grass or, in some circumstances (that are rarely seen in high level cricket), made from an artificial material. Over the course of a cricket match, the pitch is not repaired or altered other than in special circumstances - meaning that it will change condition. Any grass on the pitch in the game's first over, for example, may have disappeared by twentieth over due to wear. Perth Doo’cot Cricket Club host weekend and midweek cricket matches through the season, and Doo’cot Park hosts a range of competitions and events, from school finals, summer camps, and girls’ cricket. A.K. Bell, the founder of Doo'cot Park, was passionate about cricket. He grew up playing the game and in 1885 was described as ‘a sure catch in the long field. His passion for the game was lifelong and he enthusiastically supported young cricketers. In later life he developed a friendship with the legendary Australian cricketer Don Bradman.
