Tour Scotland short travel video clip, with Scottish music, of Hunting scenes on Pictish symbol stones on history visit and trip to the Highlands and Lowlands, Britain, United Kingdom. There are over two hundred stones across Scotland with some form of Pictish symbol, many scattered across the Highlands. Some Pictish stones feature specific animals or mythical beasts. There are also stones with elaborate huning scenes with human and animal figures. A Pictish stone is a type of monumental stele, generally carved or incised with symbols or designs by the Picts. A few have ogham inscriptions. Located in Scotland, mostly north of the Clyde to Forth line and on the Eastern side of the country, these stones are the most visible remaining evidence of the Picts and are thought to date from the 6th to 9th century, a period during which the Picts became Christianized. The earlier stones have no parallels from the rest of the United Kingdom. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
