The parish church was built here in 1890 as part of the United Free Church of Scotland which amalgamated with the church of Scotland in 1928. Falling numbers led to a linkage with Glenshee and Cray parish which then linked with Kirkmichael and Straloch before a final merger with Rattray. The church is on the Cateran Trail long distance walking path, and is popular in winter as it is near the Glen Shee skiing area. Ann Drimmie was born on 21 March 1786, in Montrose, Forfarshire, Scotland, her father, Thomas Drimmie, was 41 and her mother, Ann Rea, was 43. She married Alexander Grant on 16 May 1807, in Forfar, Forfarshire, Scotland. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. She died on 28 January 1865, in Forfar, Angus, Scotland, United Kingdom, at the age of 78. John Drimmie born 1834 went to Canada from Ireland arriving there on the 18th of July 1856 with his brother Daniel. They settled in Canada at a place called Yeovel almost due west of Toronto approximatly mid way between Lake Ontario and Lake Huron. Daniel Drimmie was a public school teacher who taught at Flesherton, Solina, Holstein and Dromore in the Province of Ontario.
