Tour Scotland short 4K Winter travel video clip, with Scottish music, of the North graveyard and church on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to Cowdenbeath, Fife, Britain, United Kingdom. The church is the latest in a series of buildings on the same site, since at least the 12th century. The present church was constructed in 1834 by James MacFarlane and was altered between 1884 and 1886. It is on flat ground at the northern end of a graveyard which slopes down to the South. James MacFarlane practised as an architect and lived at Woodside Cottage in Doune. He was an active elder of the parish church and several times served as Master of the local Freemasons' Lodge. He died on 12 May 1857. He was succeeded by his son, also James MacFarlane, who was an engineer and who was born in 1811 and died in 1863. By the meteorological calendar, the first day of Winter is always 1st December in Scotland; ending on 28th of February. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
