Autumn Rain Moot Hill On History Visit To Scone Palace Perth Perthshire Scotland

Tour Scotland 4K Autumn travel of rain by the Stone of Destiny and the Mortuary Chapel on moot hill on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to Scone Palace by Perth, Perthshire, Britain, United Kingdom. Moot hill is where Kings of Scots, including Macbeth and Robert The Bruce were crowned. Also known as Boot Hill and the Stone of Scone. The place of coronation was formerly called Caislean Credi, Hill of Credulity. Robert the Bruce was crowned at Scone in 1306 and the last coronation was of King Charles II , when he accepted the Scottish crown in 1651. The Boot Hill, or Moot Hill, was said to have been created by pilgrims each carrying a boot full of soil to the site in a gesture of fealty to the king. The small Presbyterian chapel was restored in Gothic style around 1804. Now a Mortuary Chapel and Stormont Mausoleum it is said to be the aisle of the old parish church, which is believed to have been built about 1624. Weather forecast today was far rather cloudy and rainy across much of Scotland and large parts of England. Spells of rain here, heavy at times, with parts of northern and eastern England seeing the most persistent rain. Brighter over Northern Ireland, Wales and southwest England. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
