Montrose Mausoleum With Music On History Visit To Aberuthven Perthshire Scotland

Tour Scotland Spring 4K travel video, with Scottish music, of the Montrose Mausoleum in St Kattan's Churchyard on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to Aberuthven, Perthshire, Britain, United Kingdom. The west end of the church is occupied by the fine Palladian burial place of the Dukes of Montrose dated 1736. The Dukes of Montrose, the Graemes of Inchbrakie, Orchill, and Damside, all had rights of burial in the church. The title of Duke of Montrose, named after Montrose, Angus, was created twice in the peerage of Scotland, firstly in 1488 for David Lindsay, 5th Earl of Crawford. It was forfeited and then returned, but only for the period of the holder's lifetime. Thus, it was not inherited. The title was bestowed anew in 1707, again in the peerage of Scotland, on the fourth Marquess of Montrose, and has since been in the Graham family. The title is also tied as the chieftainship of Clan Graham. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
