Church And Cemetery With Music On History Visit To Glamis Angus Scotland

Tour Scotland 4K travel video of photographs, with Scottish music, on an ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to the church and cemetery in Glamis, Angus. Glamis Parish Church is located in a rural setting, within a large graveyard, alongside the Glamis estate, village and castle. It is reputed that a church has stood on this site since the 8th century, when Saint Fergus established a small ecclesiastical structure. Records show that a church has existed here since at least 1242, when David de Bernham, Bishop of St Andrews Cathedral in Fife, dedicated the church at Glamis and granted it to Arbroath Abbey. The large graveyard has mostly 18th and 19th century gravestones, although the earliest is 1604. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day All photographs are copyright of Sandy Stevenson, Tour Scotland, and may not be used without permission.
