Tour Scotland early Autumn travel video, with Scottish music, of a cloudy road trip drive on ancestry, genealogy, history visit to the village of Benderloch, Scottish Gaelic: Meadarloch, meaning mountain between two lochs, in Argyll and Bute, Highlands. A stunning drive through some magnificent scenery, with the coast never far away. Long straights, fast bends and then tight sections through the villages of Duror, Appin to Benderloch, the road has a bit of everything for a memorable drive. Benderloch is in the coastal parish of Ardchattan. It grew up as the railway line from Ballachullish to Connel was completed in the early part of the 1900s, between the older locations of Selma and Craigneuk. Its railway station closed in 1966. Benderloch has a village shop, garage, caravan and leisure store, cafe and a forest walk up to a viewpoint on the summit of Beinn Lora. Benderloch forms part of the Lynn of Lorn National Scenic Area, one of forty in Scotland. St. Modan's Church in Benderloch was opened in May 1905.
