Grey Squirrel Eating On Stormy Visit To My Cottage Garden Scone By Perth Perthshire Scotland

Tour Scotland 4K early Spring travel video of a Grey squirrel eating on a stormy afternoon visit to my cottage garden in Scone by Perth, Perthshire. As the weather forecast predicted, parts of the United Kingdom have experienced the strongest winds since February 2020 today. As its name suggests, this squirrel typically has a grey coat with white undersides, though the coat colour can also be quite brown at times. Grey squirrels are mainly herbivorous, eating acorns, hazel nuts, berries, fungi, buds and shoots, and even bark. Squirrel movement decreases significantly in the winter months, with some squirrel species even hibernating during this time. Spring is a busy time of year for squirrels as the come out of their dens in search of food. Squirrels are typically active all day, especially during the fall and spring months when they are more actively in search of food. Their Winter fur is dense and silvery grey with a brown tinge along the middle of the back. The grey squirrel was introduced to Great Britain in the middle of the 19th century. There is now an estimated population of 2 million making them much more common than the native red squirrel. They arrived in England from North America and are now one of Britain's most well known and frequently seen mammals, with an estimated population of 2 million All photographs are copyright of Sandy Stevenson, Tour Scotland, and may not be used without permission.
