Tour Scotland travel video of a Winter afternoon road trip drive, with Scottish bagpipes and drums music, from Perth, over the old bridge which spans the River Tay, then through Bridgend, to the village of Scone, where I live, after visit to Perth, Perthshire. The medieval village of Scone, which grew up around the monastery and royal residence, was abandoned in the early 19th century when the residents were removed and a new palace was built on the site by the Earl of Mansfield. Hence the modern village of Scone, and the medieval village of Old Scone, can often be distinguished. Scots woke up to snow today after an amber weather warning was issued across the country. Temperatures dropped last night across a large section of Scotland. This latest warning means the icy conditions and snowfall are expected to continue into the weekend. During the coronavirus pandemic I have been a volunteer driver doing some shopping for elderly Scots. From Tuesday 5 January, mainland Scotland moved from Level 4 to a temporary Lockdown. Examples of reasonable excuses to go out include essential shopping, including essential shopping for a vulnerable person.
