Dunbarney is a small parish, which lies near the River Earn in Perth and Kinross Council Area, some 4 miles South of Perth and 7 miles West of Newburgh in Fife. The parish has an area of 3.7 square miles. Dunbarney has 5 neighbouring parishes; namely Abernethy, Dron, Forgandenny, Perth and Rhynd. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government Scotland Act in 1889.
