Great Spotted Woodpecker On Visit To My Cottage Garden In Scone By Perth Perthshire Scotland
Tour Scotland Summer 4K travel video of a Great Spotted Woodpecker eating on a visit to my wild bird peanuts feeder in my cottage garden in Scone by Perth, Perthshire. Great Spotted Woodpeckers often feed in gardens, coming in to use mesh peanut feeders and hanging fat blocks. Peanuts are a great source of fat, fibre and protein for your wild birds. Greatly beneficial during the colder months as well as the breeding season, you will have a variety of birds flocking to your feeders as they provide the extra energy boost they need. Great spotted woodpeckers can be seen in woodlands, especially with mature broad leaved trees, although mature conifers will support them. They can also be found in parks and large gardens. They will come to peanut feeders and bird tables. Not found in the far North of Scotland. Only a handful of pairs nest in Ireland, but numbers are increasing. Common in England and Wales.
