Woodland Walk Kinclaven Perthshire Scotland

Tour Scotland 4K travel video of a woodland walk in the bluebell woods located by the road between Kinclaven and Murthly on visit to rural Perthshire. Previously known as Ballathie Bluebell Wood, this oak wood is one of the largest areas of oakwood in Scotland and is well known locally for its extensive carpet of bluebells in Spring. The Bluebell’s Latin name, Hyacinthoides, comes from a Greek myth: when the Prince Hyacinthus died, the tears of the god Apollo spelled the word ‘alas’ on the petals of the hyacinth flower that sprang up from his blood. Non scripta means unlettered and distinguishes this bluebell from the similar looking hyacinth. As you walk through a forest in Scotland remember to stop every so often and be very, very quiet. If you stay still and get lucky you might hear birds staking their territorial claims to the trees. You'll find that Scotland is the perfect place to explore the natural wonders of forests and woodlands.
