Road Trip Drive To Abbey Culross Fife Scotland

Tour Scotland travel video of road trip drive, with Scottish music, on visit to Abbey in Culross, Fife. Culross Abbey, a former Cistercian abbey, was built in the 1200s and survived until the Reformation, when the abbey church became the parish church. Culross is said to have been the site of an early Christian community led by St Serf and of which St Kentigern, Saint Mungo, was a member. The abbey was founded in 1217 by King Malcolm I, Mormaer or Earl of Fife, and was first colonised by monks from Kinloss Abbey. The remaining intact part of the Abbey is used by the Church of Scotland as the local parish church. Culross has become an evergrowing tourist location thanks to it being used several times for Outlander filming locations.
