Spring Road Trip Drive To Beech Hedge By Meikleour Perthshire Scotland

Tour Scotland Spring travel video of a road trip drive, with Scottish music, to visit the Beech Hedge by Meikleour on the road between Perth and Blairgowrie, Perthshire. The Meikleour Beech Hedge, located near Meikleour, alongside the A93 Perth to Blairgowrie Road, was planted in the autumn of 1745 by Jean Mercer and her husband, Robert Murray Nairne on the Marquess of Lansdowne's Meikleour estate. It is said the hedge grows towards the heavens because the men who planted it were killed at the Battle of Culloden.
