Spring Millais Viewpoint Perth Perthshire Scotland

Tour Scotland Spring 4K travel video of the Millais viewpoint on visit to Riverside Park in Perth, Perthshire. This unique sculpture by Timothy Shutter, 1997, can be found looking west across the Tay from the Perth Sculpture Trail. One of Millais' famous pictures is Autumn Leaves and these form part of the frame. The cut corners refer to immortality and are reminders of Effie Gray, Millais' wife. John Everett Millais painted many of his famous works in Perth. Sir John Everett Millais, 1st Baronet, born 8 June 1829, died 13 August 1896, was an English painter and illustrator who was one of the founders of the Pre Raphaelite Brotherhood. He was a child prodigy who, aged eleven, became the youngest student to enter the Royal Academy Schools. The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood was founded at his family home in London, England, at 83 Gower Street, now number 7.
