Old Photograph Railway Station Stanley Perthshire Scotland

Old photograph of the Railway Station in Stanley, Perthshire, Scotland. A railway station was built in Stanley in 1848. This later evolved into a junction station, as it lay at the point where the branch line to Forfar broke off from the Highland Main Line. The Highland Main Line still runs through the village, but the station was closed in 1956. Stanley is a village on the north side of the River Tay around 6 miles north of Perth.
