Winter Sleet And Snow River Tay Perth Perthshire Scotland
Tour Scotland travel video of Winter weather of sleet and snow falling by the River Tay on visit to Perth, Perthshire. The weather forecast predicted rain, sleet and snow in places over the weekend, while warning of more to come, but said the weather system had not been named as a storm because it was not yet severe enough. The River Tay begins life as a tiny spring on Ben Lui and changes its name several times before it passes through Loch Tay. By the time it reaches the end of its journey at the Firth of Tay near Dundee it is almost 2 miles wide and can carry more water than the Thames and the Severn combined. The river is home to internationally important populations of salmon, otter and lamprey and is reputed as one of Scotland's finest angling rivers.
