Old photograph of Dave Dunlop's Entertainers in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. The surname Dunlop was first found in Ayrshire, Gaelic: Siorrachd Inbhir Àir, formerly a county in the southwestern Strathclyde region of Scotland, that today makes up the Council Areas of South, East, and North Ayrshire, where one of the first records of the name was Dominius Willelmus de Dunlop who was listed as a witness to an indenture in 1260. Interestingly, the original document was lost but a notarial copy was made in 1444.
