Hogmanay Afternoon Drive From Dundee To Bridgend Perth Perthshire Scotland
Tour Scotland travel video of a Hogmanay late afternoon, sometimes low sun, road trip drive, with Scottish music, West on the A90 road from Dundee to visit Bridgend in Perth, Perthshire. During the winter, the low angle of the sun can often mean that your sun visor will not always protect your eyes, a hazard that is particularly acute when the sun reflects off a wet road surface, creating strong, bright glare. When driving in bright and low sun, remember that other drivers may also be suffering from the blinding effects of glare, even if you aren't. Try to maintain a constant speed, keeping a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. It's also best to avoid any sudden stops, as the reaction time of the driver behind may be impacted by low visibility. Be extra vigilant in the mornings and evenings, when the sun is especially low in the sky. Hogmanay is the Scots word for the last day of the year in this case New Year's Eve, December 31st, 2019. This Scottish road originates in Edinburgh, it the travels west and over the Forth Road Bridge, before turning into the M90 motorway. At Perth, the M90 again becomes the A90, now running north east to Dundee and through the Kingsway road system. It then passes Forfar, Brechin, Stracathro, the site of an ancient Roman Camp, Stonehaven, Bridge of Muchalls, where the Burn of Muchalls flows under, near Muchalls Castle, near Saint Ternan's Church, Newtonhill, Portlethen, from there through the city of Aberdeen, crossing the Ythan Estuary, on to Peterhead on its way to Fraserburgh.
