Old Photograph Nith Bridge New Cumnock Scotland
Old photograph of the bridge over the River Nith in New Cumnock in East Ayrshire, Scotland. Scottish poet Robert Burns was a frequent visitor to the town and made a few friends in the area. New Cumnock was notable for a number of significant Christian revivals in the early half of the 20th Century, including a sizeable number of conversions in 1921.Both William Wallace and Robert Bruce were hunted within the Afton's glen by New Cumnock. Nith Bridge is where the A76 crosses the River Nith in New Cumnock. This major route runs between Kilmarnock and Dumfries.
