Old Photograph Victoria Hotel Portknockie Scotland

Old photograph of the Victoria Hotel in Portknockie, Moray Firth, Scotland. It was built in 1884 to accommodate visitors, reflecting the increased prosperity and travel to the fishing village, particularly following the arrival of the railway. This Scottish village was founded in 1677 and became a significant herring fishing port during the nineteenth century, although today only a handful of commercial inshore boats remain.
