Old Photograph North Gate Street Peebles Scotland

Old photograph of shops, buildings and people on North Gate Street in Peebles in the Borders of Scotland. Peebles was first used as a surname by descendants of the Pictish people of ancient Scotland. The ancestors of the Peebles family lived in the town of Peebles in the county of the same name. The name is occasionally derived from residence in the lands called Peebles near St. Vigeans in the county of Angus.
