Old Photograph Promenade Leven Fife Scotland

Old photograph of people in the shelter on the promenade in Leven, Fife, Scotland. The prosperity of the area is evident when looking at some of the owners of the houses by the promenade. They included; Edgar L. Boase of Scoonie Spinning Mill, Charles Carlow, Chairman of Fife Coal Company, Paper Maker William Gosset and George Donaldson, of James Donaldson and Sons Timber Merchants of Tayport and Leven. Leven is located on the coast of the Firth of Forth at the mouth of the River Leven, eight miles north-east of Kirkcaldy and six miles east of Glenrothes. I was born in Randolph Street, in nearby village of Buckhaven.
