Old photograph of houses, vintage cars and people on Welbeck Crescent in Troon, Ayrshire, Scotland. Charles Kerr Marr was born in Troon in 1855. A coal contractor by trade, Marr amassed a fortune whilst in London, England, during the 1st World War. Following his death, a substantial amount of this wealth was left to a Trust whose task it was to bring about the advancement of education in Troon. He died on the 15th of February, 1919
