Old Photograph Nungate Bridge Haddington Scotland

Old photograph of Nungate Bridge over the River Tyne in Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland. Nungate Bridge, built of red sandstone, appears to be of 17th century date, but it has been considerably altered and repaired. There are two 18th century arches on the eastern approach. The bridge itself is over 210 feet long and 14 feet 8 inches across the parapets; it has three main arches. The River Tyne in Scotland, rises in the Moorfoot Hills in Midlothian near Tynehead to the south of Edinburgh, at the junction of the B6458 and the B6367. It continues for approx. 30 miles in a north eastern direction and empties into the North Sea near Belhaven.
