Old Photograph The Mall Thurso Scotland

Old photograph of The Mall, a popular riverside walk in Thurso, Caithness, Scotland. Situated on the Pentland Firth in the sheltered Thurso Bay, Thurso is the most northerly town on the Scottish mainland. Thurso is a long established town with origins dating back to Viking times when it was an important Norse settlement and the major gateway to mainland Scotland. Blog post of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
